The aim of the study is to compare the effect of two approaches in the general scores of essay writing amongst Form Four students of Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School, Brunei Darussalam by using the pre-test-post-test control group design mainly on the achievement of students in ideas selection, cohesive and coherence development, the use of appropriate structures and so on. After the test was conducted, the outcome was discussed, thus, creating solutions to solve the problems.
