Penggunaan Peta Pelbagai Alir I-Think Sebab-Akibat dalam Merumuskan Carta Pai dalam Pendidikan Bahasa Melayu

Abstract:
Melaporkan carta pai dalam bentuk penulisan merupakan kemahiran menulis yang
perlu dikuasi oleh pelajar tahun 7 di negara Brunei Darussalam. Walau bagaimanapun,
kebanyakkan pelajar tahun 7 masih menghadapi masalah ini disebabkan pelajar kurang kritis
dalam memahami, menganalisis dan mengolah serta menghuraikan terutamanya isi tersurat
dan tersirat yang dinyatakan dalam carta pai. Oleh demikian, kajian ini meneroka penggunaan
peta pelbagai alir I-Think Sebab-Akibat dalam meningkatkan kemahiran merumuskan carta
pai pelajar tahun 7. Selain itu, kajian ini juga mengenal pasti persepsi pelajar mengenai
penggunaan peta I-Think tersebut dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran merumuskan bahan
grafik. Kajian ini merupakan kajian tindakan berdasarkan model Kemmis dan McTaggart
(1988). Hasil dapatan kajian menunjukkan peta I-Think Sebab-Akibat telah membantu pelajar
membaca dan menulis isi rumusan carta pai secara terancang, membantu pelajar meneliti,
menafsir dan menerangkan maklumat yang tersurat dan isi tersirat. Selain itu, pelajar juga
memberikan respons yang positif ketika ditemu bual mengenai penggunaan peta I-Think
Sebab-Akibat dalam merumusakan carta pai. Pelajar juga menunjukkan minat untuk
menggunakan peta I-Think dalam aspek lain dalam pengajaran bahasa Melayu seperti
fahaman, simpulan bahasa, tatabahasa, peribahasa dan karangan selain merumuskan carta
pai.
Reporting a pie chart is an essential writing skill that needs to be acquired by Year 7 students in Brunei Darussalam. However, most of these students are unable to analyze, understand and explain pie charts critically. Therefore, this study explores the use of I-Think Cause-Effect flow maps in improving Year 7 students' pie chart writing skills. Additionally, this study also identifies students' perceptions regarding the use of the I-Think map in teaching and learning writing graphic materials. This action research study is based on the model by Kemmis and McTaggart (1988). The results of the study show that the Cause-Effect I-Think map has helped students read and write the content of pie charts in a planned manner, helping students examine, interpret and explain written information and implied content. Furthermore, students also gave positive responses during the interview regarding the use of I-Think Cause- Effect maps in writing and analyzing the pie charts. Students not only showed interest in using the I-Think map in writing and pie chart analysis, but also in other aspects of the Malay language such as comprehension, idioms, grammar, proverbs and compositions.
