This research looks at how intrinsic, extrinsic, instrumental, and integrative motivation affects 157 participants during their foreign-language learning experience under the Language Centre at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. The participants involved studied Arabic, French, Mandarin, German, Japanese, Korean, and Filipino language. The research is exploratory, both quantitative and qualitative methods were used. Questionnaires and follow-up interviews were done to extract valuable information about foreign language learning in relation to the time spent learning, and their learning methods. The results of the research led to a discussion of the abovementioned types of motivation among learners, and the issues pertaining to attractiveness, difficulties, and employability that are faced by the learners. This study concludes that intrinsic, and instrumental motivation are the top two motivation types present among the foreign language learners at the Language Centre, UBD.
