Abstract:
Research conducted on the poetry of Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien has indeed received attention from local and international researchers. There are many issues that can be discussed and summarized by looking at various aspects such as religion, history, medicine, economics, and education. Accordingly, this study looks at the educational aspect in the works of Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien and the implementations that have been achieved during the era of His Majesty's reign. This study also touches on the thoughts in three poems by Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien, namely Syair Perinstitution of the Brunei State, Syair Asli Rajang Hari, and Syair Nasihat. The thoughts in Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien's work and its implementation focuses on three important elements, namely the moral, the infrastructure development, and the welfare. Thoughts on the educational aspect discuss several verses of Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien's poetry related to education aspect. This thinking has resulted in implementations such as the development of primary schools, secondary schools, and vocational technical schools in the country of Brunei Darussalam. Apart from evidence in terms of elements of infrastructure development, elements of morals and elements of virtue such as the application of pure values, the application of Islamic education, the holding of the MIB philosophy, the provision of financial allocations, scholarship offers and the structure organization of the education sector during the reign of Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien were also discussed. In fact to strengthening the research argument, this research uses qualitative methods based on previous research studies, books, articles and journals and newspapers related to the topic of this study. Apart from that, close reading methods and internet sources are also used to support evidence in the study.
