dc.descriptionThe main objective of this study is to examine VTE graduates in relation to their employment status and why there is a reported high proportion of unemployment among VTE graduates. The study also identifies various socio-economic factors that influence employment of VTE graduate. It involves a purposive sample survey of 70 students from two vocational technical schools. An exploratory study was also done to identify the graduates' perception and attitudes on employment and likewise, the employers' perception and assessment of local VTE graduates. The study reveals a number of keys findings which are crucial for consideration of policy development and implementation to increase the level of employment among VTE graduates. It shows there remains a high unemployment rate among the VTE graduates. Although a majority of the graduates worked in the private sector, the mindset of VTE graduates preferring public sector job remains.
