dc.description.abstractKajian tindakan ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti penggunaan Pendekatan Pembelajaran Berasaskan Projek (PBP) dapat meningkatkan kemahiran lisan Bahasa Melayu pelajar Tahun 9 yang berumur 14-15 tahun di salah sebuah sekolah menengah di Daerah Tutong, Brunei Darussalam. Melalui pendekatan PBP, kajian ini telah mengaplikasikan empat langkah pengajaran iaitu pelancaran produk, pengukuhan ilmu pengetahuan, perkembangan produk dan pembentangan. Kajian tindakan ini menggunakan ujian prakajian dan pascakajian bagi mengenal pasti peningkatan markah pelajar dalam kemahiran lisan dengan menggunakan PBP. Selain itu, kajian ini juga mengenal pasti persepsi pelajar dan juga pendapat guru mengenai keberkesanan pendekatan PBP melalui kaedah soal selidik dan temu bual. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan peningkatan markah kemahiran lisan pelajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan PBP. Temu bual bersama guru membuktikan pendekatan PBP mampu mengembangkan aspek berbahasa pelajar selain dapat menambah keyakinan untuk bertutur di khalayak. Pelajar juga berpendapat bahawa PBP mampu mewujudkan suasana pembelajaran yang menarik, memberikan impak dalam pembelajaran kolaboratif dan juga berupaya menerapkan kefahaman yang optimum terhadap isi pembelajaran. Pendekatan ini dilihat mampu meningkatkan kemahiran komunikasi dan kemahiran interpersonal pelajar. Selain dapat meningkatkan mutu kemahiran lisan, pelajar telah berupaya mengembangkan aspek-aspek akademik lain yang menjadi nilai tambah terhadap kemahiran individu pelajar.
dc.description.abstractThis action research aims to identify the use of the Project Based Learning Approach (PBP) to improve the Malay language skills of Year 9 students aged 14-15 years in one of the secondary schools in Tutong District, Brunei Darussalam. Through the PBP approach, this study has applied four teaching steps namely product launch, knowledge strengthening, product development and presentation. This action research uses pre-study and post-study tests to identify the improvement of students' scores in oral skills by using PBP. In addition, this study also identified the students' perceptions and also the teachers' opinions on the effectiveness of the PBP approach through questionnaires and interviews. The results show an increase in students' oral skill scores by using the PBP approach. Interviews with teachers prove that the PBP approach is able to develop aspects of students' language in addition to increase their confidence to speak in public. Students also think that PBP is able to create an interesting learning atmosphere, has an impact in collaborative learning and is also able to apply an optimal understanding of the learning content. This approach is seen to be able to improve students' communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to being able to improve the quality of oral skills, students also able to develop other academic aspects that are added value to the individual skills of students.
